In Hyderabad, the Task Force team of the Commissioner of Food Safety conducted inspections on July 12 at four food outlets located in Galleria Next Imperia Mall, Punjagutta.
At Dosa Darbar and Chaat Republic, it was revealed that the Food Business Operators (FBOs) were operating without valid licenses. The inspection also uncovered a live cockroach infestation in the kitchen areas, along with broken flooring. Additionally, the food handlers did not possess medical fitness certificates, as required by regulations.
At Spicy Beijing, the team noted that the true copy of the FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) registration was not displayed. The FBO was found operating with a registration when they should have had a license, as per their business category. Raw and semi-prepared food items stored in steel containers lacked proper labeling. Moreover, the dustbins were partially open, and the exit door was not adequately sealed against pests. Medical fitness certificates for food handlers and pest control records were also missing.
Nosh Bistro did not display a true copy of the FSSAI license. Several food items, such as burger buns and paneer, were discovered to be expired. Packed raw materials like batter and momo lacked proper packaging dates and use-by dates. Similar to the other outlets, medical fitness certificates for staff and records of pest control measures were absent. Furthermore, raw food articles and semi-prepared foods were not appropriately labeled.
At The Coffee Cup, several food handlers were observed without hairnets and uniforms. Expired food items were found and discarded during the inspection.
These inspections highlight significant violations of food safety regulations at these establishments, raising concerns about hygiene standards and compliance with licensing requirements.
