Madurai, Coimbatore, Dindigul, Theni, and Tiruvarur districts have experienced continuous downpours, causing inconvenience to the public. Transportation services have been impacted, and several regions are grappling with waterlogging and other rain-related issues.

Kancheepuram, Thirunelveli, Thiruvarur, Ramanathapuram, Tanjavur, Nagapattinam, Kanyakumari, Tuticorin, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Pudukottai, Thirunelveli, Shivagangai, Myladuthurai districts have reported heavy rainfall, prompting environmental authorities to issue alerts. The same weather conditions are expected to prevail today and tomorrow.

In light of the situation, several schools and colleges in Tamil Nadu have declared holidays. In the Nilgiris region, sections of railway tracks between Kallar and Coonoor have been inundated, leading to disruptions in train services. Two passenger trains have been canceled until the 16th of this month due to these developments. The impact of the rain is severe in the five taluks of Nilgiris district."
