Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy Responds to V. Vijayasai Reddy Resignation Announcement

TDP leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy has reacted to the resignation announcement made by V. Vijayasai Reddy, a senior leader of the YSR Congress Party. Vijayasai Reddy recently declared his decision to quit politics and resign from his Rajya Sabha seat on January 25.

In his response, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy shared his views on the political implications of this decision. He remarked on Vijayasai Reddy's contributions to politics and how his exit could affect the YSR Congress Party.

This announcement has sparked conversations across political circles, with leaders offering mixed reactions. The focus now shifts to the potential changes within the YSR Congress Party after Vijayasai Reddy's departure.

TDP leader and former minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy reacted strongly to YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP V. Vijayasai Reddy's announcement of stepping away from active politics. Sharing his thoughts on the platform 'X' (formerly Twitter), Somireddy questioned the timing and motives behind the resignation, calling it "peculiar."

In his tweet, Somireddy alleged, “After committing numerous wrongdoings, announcing a resignation to leave politics seems bizarre.” He also mocked Vijayasai Reddy's intention to focus on farming, saying, “Will you farm with the black money you have looted? Who will compensate the state for the damage done if you step into farming now?”

Somireddy further accused Vijayasai Reddy of being involved in corrupt activities since 2004, claiming that he acted as a key figure in executing misconduct under the guise of the then Chief Minister's family. He stated, “In the past five years, you remained the right hand for Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s anarchic and exploitative governance.”

The TDP leader also demanded accountability, saying, “Before resigning, reveal where the ₹43,000 crore looted during the earlier term and the ₹1 lakh crore public wealth stolen in the last five years is hidden. Only then can there be a chance for divine forgiveness.”

Somireddy hinted that Vijayasai Reddy's resignation might be motivated by a fear of legal repercussions. He questioned whether the decision was linked to ongoing cases or to protect his son-in-law's company, Aurobindo Pharma.

Additionally, Somireddy predicted that this resignation might lead to further exits from the YSRCP. He wrote, “This resignation spree might not stop with Vijayasai Reddy. One or two more members might resign by tonight or tomorrow.”

The sharp criticism has sparked a heated political debate, drawing attention to the unfolding developments in Andhra Pradesh politics.
