Rashmika Mandanna Criticized for Skipping Karnataka International Film Festival
Karnataka Congress Leaders Slam Rashmika
Karnataka Congress leaders have strongly criticized actress Rashmika Mandanna for not attending the International Film Festival despite receiving an invitation. MLA Ravi Kumar Gowda accused Rashmika of neglecting the Kannada language and film industry, expressing his disappointment over her absence. He also questioned why she identifies herself with Hyderabad instead of Karnataka.
Ravi Kumar Gowda stated, "Rashmika Mandanna started her film career in Karnataka with the Kannada movie 'Kirik Party.' We invited her multiple times last year to the International Film Festival, but she refused. She claimed she didn’t have time for Karnataka, saying her home is in Hyderabad, as if Karnataka means nothing to her. She is disrespecting the Kannada language and film industry. She must be taught a lesson."
Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar Expresses Displeasure
Meanwhile, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar also criticized actors for skipping the International Film Festival held in Bengaluru. He urged the film industry to unite and actively participate in key state events.
D.K. Shivakumar questioned the purpose of organizing the International Film Festival if actors refuse to attend, emphasizing that the government supports the film industry, and actors should recognize this. He further warned that if actors continue to ignore such events, he knows how to take corrective measures.
