Mars, April 11 – NASA’s Perseverance rover has discovered a mysterious rock formation on Mars that resembles a human skull, sparking curiosity among scientists and space enthusiasts alike. Dubbed "Skull Hill", the eerie-looking rock was spotted near the Jezero Crater.

Captured by the rover’s Mastcam-Z camera, the dark, angular rock stood out from the surrounding pale terrain. Its pitted surface and skull-like shape led researchers to investigate further. While the rock’s exact origin is still unknown, scientists believe it may have been shaped by wind erosion or could be a fragment of volcanic material or meteorite debris.

Interestingly, its dark coloration is similar to meteorites previously found by the Curiosity rover, suggesting it might offer clues about Mars' ancient past. NASA is now conducting detailed analysis to understand how Skull Hill formed, with hopes it may unlock secrets about the Red Planet’s geological and climatic history — and even potential signs of ancient life.
