Educationally accomplished, Jyothsna holds a degree in Bachelor of Science, majoring in Computer Science, Physics, and Mathematics. Additionally, she possesses a Diploma in Business Administration, which has paved her professional path. She currently serves as an Executive Assistant and Project Officer at a prominent educational organization in Australia.

From a young age, Jyothsna exhibited a deep-seated passion for the performing arts. Her journey began in school, where she enthusiastically participated in a diverse range of cultural activities, including singing, dancing, drama, and fashion shows.

A remarkable facet of Jyothsna's life is her prowess as a self-taught choreographer, a skill she has honed since the tender age of 10. Her formative years, enriched by visits to her grandparents' home in Melukote, Karnataka, offered her encounters with celebrities and ignited her lifelong connection with the world of performing arts.

In 2021, Jyothsna's talents transcended local recognition as she participated in a beauty contest in Sydney, emerging as a finalist and earning esteemed titles such as "Best Talent - Mrs India Australia" and "Mrs Vivacious - Mrs India Worldwide."

Beyond her artistic accomplishments, Jyothsna has made significant contributions to her community and the fashion industry. In 2023, she received the coveted "Beauty Queen of the Year 2023" award, recognizing her philanthropic endeavors and her valuable contributions to the world of fashion.

Her triumphs led to new opportunities and roles. She assumed the position of Ramp Walk Director for Miss/Mrs India Worldwide 2022, celebrated for her exceptional choreography.

Furthermore, she was appointed as a radio presenter at the community radio, Radio Humwatan 100.9FM, where she has interviewed influential figures and celebrities dedicated to community service. Her motto is to inspire the younger generation through the impactful work of these individuals and empower them to give back to their communities.

A testament to her multifaceted nature, Jyothsna has been involved both onstage and behind the scenes in various renowned organizations in Sydney. She has served as a singer, fashion show/ramp walk director, and fashion and media coordinator for esteemed organizations such as Opera Miss/Mrs India Worldwide, Little India Harris Park Business Association, Sydney Malayalee Association, and Australia's Fashion Grandeur, among others. She has also lent her expertise as a judge in numerous pageants and fashion shows across Australia.

In addition to her artistic and community engagements, Jyothsna has volunteered her time for causes close to her heart, including the Kids Cancer project, Clean Up Australia Day, and various other community programs.

Never one to rest on her laurels, Jyothsna is currently immersing herself in the world of Carnatic music, further nurturing her passion for singing. Her guiding belief is that everyone possesses unique gifts and talents; they simply need to be discovered. With unbridled passion, determination, hard work, and discipline, anyone can achieve their goals, regardless of their status, age, or marital status. Barriers to success simply do not exist in her world.

The delicate balance of her passions, profession, and personal life is a testament to her remarkable organizational skills. Yet, she humbly acknowledges that this equilibrium would not be possible without the unwavering support of her family.

Jyothsna Shetty is the founder of Appu Kannada Radio. A community radio named after South Indian power star Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar aka Appu.  Inspired by his community and philanthropic work and to follow his legacy. Appu is the son of superstar Dr Rajkumar.
