Hardik Pandya Record Breaking Performance Yet Mumbai Suffers Defeat

After bouncing back from two losses with a win, Mumbai Indians were expected to carry the momentum forward. However, Lucknow Super Giants dashed their hopes, handing them a 12-run defeat at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. With this, Lucknow registered their second win of the season while Mumbai slipped further down the points table with their third loss.

Chasing a challenging target of 203, Mumbai could only manage 191/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav starred with 67 off 43 balls (9 fours, 1 six), and Naman Dhir supported with a quickfire 46 off 24 balls. However, their efforts fell short. Hardik Pandya scored 28, and Tilak Varma added 25.

Earlier, Lucknow posted 203/8 in 20 overs, thanks to Mitchell Marsh’s 60 (31 balls) and Aiden Markram’s 53 (38 balls). Ayush Badoni chipped in with 30 runs. Hardik Pandya was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 5 wickets for 36 runs — becoming the first captain in IPL history to take a five-wicket haul. This was also his first such feat in T20s.

Lucknow’s Digvijay Singh Rathore, who bowled an economical spell (4 overs, 21 runs, 1 wicket), was named Player of the Match.
