Gas Cylinder Price: Good News for Customers on Budget Day – LPG Cylinder Prices Drop
Gas cylinder prices are revised at the start of every month, and February 1, 2025, is no exception. On this date, oil companies adjusted the prices for both domestic (14 kg) and commercial (19 kg) LPG cylinders. This change is part of the ongoing price adjustments made by oil marketing companies (OMCs).
In India, the prices for domestic and commercial LPG cylinders are set by oil marketing companies, and these prices typically change on the first of every month. The recent reduction in cylinder prices comes as a pleasant surprise for consumers, just before the general budget announcements. On February 1, 2025, OMCs lowered LPG cylinder prices, bringing relief to many.
However, fuel prices have increased significantly. This could lead to higher air travel costs as well. The new LPG and ATF (aviation turbine fuel) prices have come into effect starting February 1, 2025, across the country.
Here are the revised prices for commercial LPG cylinders in key cities:
- Delhi – ₹1,797 (down by ₹7)
- Kolkata – ₹1,907 (down by ₹4)
- Mumbai – ₹1,749.50 (down by ₹6.5)
- Chennai – ₹1,959.50 (down by ₹6.5)
- Hyderabad – ₹2,023
The price for 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders has been reduced by ₹7. These new rates are effective from today. However, there have been no changes in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders.
Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices Remain Unchanged
For the 11th consecutive month, there has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders. The last change in prices occurred in March 2024, when the price was reduced by ₹100 as part of a government relief measure. Since then, the price of domestic cylinders has remained the same.
Here are the current domestic LPG cylinder prices across major cities:
- Delhi – ₹803
- Kolkata – ₹829
- Mumbai – ₹802.50
- Chennai – ₹818.50
- Hyderabad – ₹855
