Former Andhra Deputy CM Alla Nani Resigns from YSRC

RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: Former Deputy Chief Minister Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas, widely known as Alla Nani, has resigned from the YSRC, announcing his departure from active politics.
On Friday, Nani submitted his resignation letter to YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, citing personal reasons for his decision. Nani, who served as the MLA for Eluru and was a prominent figure in the party, had been involved in various roles, including as the YSRC Eluru district president and in-charge of the Eluru Assembly constituency. He was elected to the State Assembly in 2004, 2009, and 2019. After a defeat in the 2014 elections, he was elected to the Legislative Council. His resignation has come as a significant blow to the YSRC cadre in the Eluru district, where he was a key player.
Nani's departure follows the recent resignation of former Pithapuram MLA Pendem Dorababu from the YSRC. The trend of Kapu leaders stepping away from politics is viewed as a strategy to avoid political fallout from the ruling TDP-BJP-JSP alliance. Nani, a notable leader in the Godavari region and former Health Minister in Jagan's Cabinet, had distanced himself from party activities after the YSRC faced setbacks in the Assembly elections.
