VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced plans to transform Andhra Pradesh into the country’s leading state for energy efficiency.
On Tuesday, Naidu met with EESL (Energy Efficiency Services Limited) CEO Vishal Kapoor and other officials at the State Secretariat to discuss strategies for enhancing energy efficiency across various sectors.
Key topics included the distribution of energy-efficient household appliances to homes under the PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana), as well as providing subsidized e-cycles and energy-efficient appliances to government employees. The EESL CEO also indicated that e-cycles would be offered at a discount to DWCRA members and students.
A model e-cycle was demonstrated to the Chief Minister during the meeting. Naidu instructed EESL officials to develop eco-friendly policies and emphasized his government’s commitment to promoting solar power in government offices.
He underscored the dual importance of both energy conservation and generation.
