The annual Srivari Teppotsavam (Float Festival) began with great spiritual grandeur on Sunday evening in Tirumala. The event featured a beautifully decorated float, adorned with vibrant floral arrangements and illuminated by electric lights, carrying the divine Utsava Murthys (festival deities) of Sri Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, and Anjaneya. Thousands of devotees gathered to witness this divine spectacle, chanting "Govinda Govinda!"
Divine Procession through Mada Streets
As part of the festival, the Utsava Murthys of Sri Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, and Anjaneya were taken in a grand procession at 6 PM, passing through the four Mada Streets surrounding the Srivari Temple before reaching the Swami Pushkarini (sacred temple tank).
Sacred Float Rituals in Pushkarini
On the first day of Teppotsavam, the deities were taken on the ornate float for three ceremonial rounds in the Pushkarini, blessing thousands of assembled devotees. The entire event was accompanied by Vedic chants, traditional temple music, and devotional fervor, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
