IPL 2025 Streaming: Fans Will Need to Pay for Mobile Access
The IPL 2025 season is set to kick off on March 22, with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders facing Royal Challengers Bangalore. The next day, Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
However, cricket fans hoping to watch the matches for free on mobile devices have been met with disappointing news. Unlike last season, when JioCinema offered free streaming, IPL 2025 will require a paid subscription. This change follows the merger of Disney Hotstar and JioCinema, forming a new platform called JioHotstar.
JioHotstar will offer a few minutes of free match viewing, but full access will need a subscription. Plans include ₹149 for three months or ₹499 for a year. For access on two devices, the cost is ₹299 for three months or ₹899 for a year. Ad-free options are also available for an uninterrupted viewing experience. Fans are encouraged to subscribe early to avoid missing the action-packed season.
