AP Registration Charges: Land Registration Fees in Andhra Pradesh to Increase Starting Today

Starting today, the Andhra Pradesh government has raised land registration charges, leading to a surge in registrations at government offices over the past two days. People rushed to complete property registrations before the price hike, causing long queues at registration offices. In some areas, server issues led to delays in the registration process, and some offices were open until 10 PM to accommodate the rush.

On February 1, 2025, the state government announced the price increase for land registrations, causing a rush at sub-registrar offices. In just one day, 14,250 registrations were completed across the state, generating approximately ₹107 crores in revenue for the government. This is a significant increase compared to the usual daily registrations of 7,000 to 8,000, which typically generate around ₹25-30 crores.

The highest number of registrations were recorded in Guntur (1,184), NTR District (946), and Prakasam (944), while the lowest was in Alluri district, where no registrations were completed.

This surge in registrations also led to server issues in some areas, particularly in Guntur, where the registration office saw an unprecedented rush. As per the new rules, registration charges in growth corridors will increase by about 15 to 20%. The government has decided not to raise registration fees in 29 villages around Amaravati, the capital region, due to concerns about the impact on property values.
