AP Assembly: Will Attend Only if Given Opposition Status… What Did Pawan Kalyan Say on YCP Demand?

Debate on Opposition Status Between YCP and Alliance Leaders

While YCP leaders claim, "We won't back down on the demand for opposition status," alliance leaders respond, "How can you demand opposition status when it’s not being granted?" This heated exchange has reignited discussions on opposition status during the Andhra Pradesh budget sessions. While the fan party demands, "Opposition status is our right," the government counters that "LOP status will not be given here."

Governor’s Address on Promises from the Alliance Government

During the budget session's opening, Governor Nazeer addressed the assembly, stating, "The aim is to implement the Super Six promises while unveiling the Golden Andhra Vision." However, YCP leaders protested during the Governor's address, claiming they were not given opposition status, and staged a walkout. YS Jagan, the YCP chief, emphasized that if they are not given opposition status, they will raise public issues in the assembly.

Pawan Kalyan’s Counter: Opposition Status Comes from the People!

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan responded to the comments made by YCP leaders regarding opposition status. He stated, "Opposition status is granted only when the people give it." He clarified that even if YCP wins one seat more than Jana Sena, it won't receive opposition status. Pawan urged the assembly to respect the 11 seats given by the people and come to the assembly accordingly.
