VIJAYAWADA: V. Vijaya Rama Raju, Director of the School Education Department, announced that 130 schools across the state have been selected for the School of Sports Excellence Awards (Kreeda Prathibha). The awards will be presented on August 29.
In the 2024 School of Sports Excellence category, Municipal Corporation High School in Kadapa secured the top position with a cumulative score of 1,040 points. Zilla Parishad High School at Nunna, Vijayawada Rural Mandal, NTR District, followed with 1,008 points, while AMG High School in Chilakaluripet, Palnadu, came in third with 963 points. These schools have been recognized as the best in their districts and are nominated for the state-level Kreeda Prathibha Awards.
The awards, which celebrate National Sports Day on August 29, honor the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand on his birth anniversary.
