Chennai, Feb 17: Actor Vijay Deverakonda, who recently visited the Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj with his family and offered prayers, described the sacred event as “a journey to connect, pay respect to our epic origins and roots!”
On his Instagram, Vijay Deverakonda shared a series of photos from his trip to the Kumbh Mela, commenting on each one: “The 2025 Kumbh Mela – A journey to connect, pay respect to our epic origins and roots. Making memories with my Indian boys. Saying prayers with mummy dearest. A trip to Kasi with this darling gang.”
The post received likes from many, including actress Rashmika Mandanna.
On the professional front, Vijay Deverakonda is set to star in director Gowtam Tinnanuri’s upcoming explosive entertainer Kingdom. The title teaser, released recently, revealed the movie’s release date: May 30, 2025.
Sharing the teaser link on social media, Vijay Deverakonda wrote, “This is 'KINGDOM.' Questions. Mistakes. Bloodshed. Destiny. May 30, 2025. In theaters WW #Kingdom #VD12.”
The film, previously referred to as VD12, carries the tagline, "From the shadows of betrayal, shall rise a king." The teaser hints at intense action and suggests the story focuses on the struggles of a particular group of people.
Vijay Deverakonda’s rugged look in the film includes a six-pack, cropped hair, and a beard. One shot in the teaser even shows the actor in what appears to be a prison.
Kingdom, written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, features music by Anirudh Ravichander, with editing by Navin Nooli. The film is being produced by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune 4 Cinemas banners. It will be presented by Srikara Studios. The film’s costumes are designed by Neeraja Kona, and the songs will be choreographed by Vijay Binni.
Filled with action, Kingdom also has three stunt choreographers: Yannick Ben, Chethan D’Souza, and Real Satish.
